Owner Ellen Holthaus opened Ellen's on elm on February 2, 2009 with big dreams. Her husband, John, signed on as her CFO and her two kids live in Chicago, stopping by the shop with helping hands when she needs. She is a nurse, an avid tennis player and a person who genuinely cares about each person she meets.

Our location has a long history of being the go-to gift shop beginning with The Red Door, then becoming Multiple Choices and now Ellen’s on elm. We have a great town and a great tradition of gifts! We look forward to carrying on that tradition by keeping the classic gifts around and bringing in the new. Now, we have opened the online doors for the world to experience this local gem. Enjoy!
